Meet Sadie Cruz

Author of There’s Something Wrong with Jordie Mitchell, a romance in the collection.

Sadie Cruz is a Filipina romance author living in sunny Queensland, Australia, where she spends her days working as a nurse and her nights making fictional people fall in love. Occasionally, she remembers to sleep.

As a nurse and a woman living with endometriosis and adenomyosis, Sadie is passionate about writing love stories that make people feel seen, particularly those who don't often find themselves represented in romance novels. Her stories feature imperfect heroines, emotionally complicated but genuinely good men, plenty of banter, and happily-ever-afters that don't require anyone to be magically fixed.

When she's not saving lives or emotionally tormenting her fictional characters, Sadie is a mum, an enthusiastic consumer of romance novels, anime, and manga, and someone who firmly believes that food is a perfectly acceptable love language.

Her debut novel, There's Something Wrong with Jordie Mitchell, and its interconnected standalone companion, There's Something Cooking with Leith Morgans, explore love, chronic illness, grief, family, and the beautiful mess of being human.

Above all, Sadie writes for the people who have ever wondered whether someone like them deserves a love story.

Spoiler alert: They absolutely do.

Sadie Cruz is published by Varus Publishing, the publisher of There’s Something Wrong with Jordie Mitchell.
